Mark Timmons

Mark is a retired oil and gas professional that moved into Montgomery in 2021 and started volunteering for trail maintenance at The Lake Creek Preserve in 2023.

Mark accumulated over 40 years of oil & gas industry experience in engineering, operations, and management. At the time of his retirement, Mark was Vice President of Field Operations for a large, Austin, Texas based independent oil and gas company.

Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (inactive) in the State of Texas and is a Lifetime Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Mark was a Vice President on the inaugural board of a non-profit organization supporting Midland and Odessa law enforcement and served for 3 years. Mark was a member of the UTPB Engineering Advisory Board. Mark was a member of the inaugural board of the Permian Basin Water in Energy Conference and served for 3 years. In April of 2019, Mark was inducted into the Texas Tech Petroleum Engineering Academy.
