Glenn Buckley

President

Glenn has had a lifelong interest in nature and the natural sciences. His early years and many summers roaming the hills of West Virginia gave him an appreciation for the value of green space and ultimately affected his choice of career.

Glenn has a Bachelor and Master of Science in Geology from Wayne State University and a PhD in Geology from The University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana. He retired from ExxonMobil after 28 years working in research and exploration in technical, supervisory, and technical management positions. He currently chairs the Conservation Committee for the Sam Houston Area Council BSA, is on the Advisory Board of Houston Wilderness and has served on the board of the local chapter of Texas Association of Environmental Professionals. He is also a member of the Texas Stream Team and a Project Wild Workshop Facilitator.

Glenn has been working on water quality and environmental issues related to preserving parts of the Lake Creek flood plain since moving into Montgomery Trace in 1999. He is one of the founding members of the Lake Creek Greenway Partnership formed in 2014. His special interests are public education of local resources and environmental issues and finding ways to meet the needs of area growth while preserving areas critical to water quality, flood control, recreation and wildlife.

Glenn has also served as the President of the Montgomery Trace POA, President of the East 1488 Community Association and Secretary of Keep Montgomery County Beautiful.

Glenn is an Eagle Scout and has been recognized as an Outstanding Eagle Scout and awarded the Vigil Honor, the 2001 River Steward, 2011 Texas Association of Environmental Professional Volunteer of the Year, Texas NRCS 2016 Volunteer of the Year, Texas Soil & Water Conservation District Region IV 2017 Friend of Conservation and is a Fellow of the Geological Society of America Glenn lives in Montgomery Trace with his wife of 53 years.
