Support an Eagle Scout Candidate & Help Make the Nature Trail a Reality
We are developing a 1 1/2 mile educational nature trail to offer a local opportunity for nature walks through the variety of habitats present in the Lake Creek flood plain. The educational guides along the trail will not only help identify the variety of habitats and vegetation, but also illustrate the services they provide. The trail traverses a number of wetland areas requiring boardwalks to protect the wetland vegetation as well as make for a more pleasant hiking experience.
The required boardwalks and educational exhibits are all being developed by volunteers, (including 23 Eagle projects thus far), but we are in need of funding to help Scouts purchase construction materials for the boardwalks, kiosks, signage and . We are trying to keep materials costs low, but each 8′ section of boardwalk and anchors costs about $120 and we still need close to 350′ of boardwalk, 2 kiosks, 10+ informational signs and benches to complete the project.
